With a passion for writing copy that inspires,
entertains, and informs Sheila’s creative flair extends
far beyond her work with pencil and paper. Drawing from a
diverse marketing and communications background, she has worked
for clients large and small. From writing corporate profiles
for small businesses to developing and implement re-branding
strategies and marketing campaigns, there is a common element
to all of her work: a commitment to results.
As a freelance communications specialist, Sheila
has worked as the Editor of Knowledge Network’s What’s
On, the 40-page television listings guide published five times
a year. She’s also developed and written direct mail
copy, brochures, and an on-air fundraising campaign for Knowledge
Network.
With the opening of the West Vancouver Aquatic
Centre, she was hired to develop and implement a marketing
and communications strategy. Membership in the new Centre
reached over $26,000 in memberships within the first week
of opening. With this work, she developed a re-branding campaign
for the District of West Vancouver Community Services division,
including a new logo, positioning statement, graphic standards,
and publications standards.
She offers a strong background in marketing
communications, working in-house for the YMCA of Greater Vancouver
and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. In both of these
positions, she has developed direct mail campaigns, general
awareness marketing and advertising campaigns, and oversaw
marketing operations.
Through all of her work and with all of her
clients, Sheila offers a commitment to the organization and
a desire to meet and surpass goals.
